Grandmothers walk from Martin Place down Pitt St to Circular Quay

Following the 12.30 - 1.30 Martin Place Protest Vigil ( between Pitt & Castlereagh Streets)., those who can will walk with banners down Pitt St to Circular Quay.

Today is Universal Children's Day and the day GADRC and many other groups has been campaigning to get all children off Nauru. Revised figures today for the number of children still on Nauru is 17
This is a last minute call-out to Grandmothers to attend one of today's protests. The 17 children still on Nauru need us to stand up for them, and not just to get them off Nauru, but to ensure that they and all of the refugee children and their families in Australia have a future, that they have a country to call home. The campaign is not even nearly over. Wear your purple t shirt, add something blue if you wish for the 'Blue for Nauru' theme. Not compulsory but I hear a couple of grandmothers will be wearing blue wigs, quicker than doing the blue rinse thing.

Then we'll walk, with banners down Pitt St to Circular Quay.

When we get to Circular Quay we'll visit one of the coffee shops near Customs House. Some of you  might also like to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Quay and see Hoda Afshar's photographic exhibition 'Lens on Manus'.

At 5pm we will join the Teachers for Refugees Rally 'Kids Off, Now Everyone Off' in front of Customs House.
Some Grandmothers and friends will then wait at Customs House at Circular Quay for the 5pm Refugee Action Coalition Rally.
