Tamil case cries out for ministerial intervention

Perhaps what is more remarkable is that there were protests in the quiet country town of Biloela, where they had spent several years being part of the community. Queensland towns are not generally known to be part of any left wing causes and are normally on the conservative side of the agenda. But the community had got to know the young couple and respect their hard work and efforts to integrate into the community. Iā€™m sure that if a survey was carried out in that town we would find that the majority of people would support a strong border policy but would ask for compassion for this family.
