After six years we leave Manus Island to go to 'nowhere': an asylum seeker's story

“Six years of my young life have been lost on Manus Island. I never knew from minute to minute, month to month, year to year, what would happen to me.

I never left the island in those six years. Having gone through unbearable pain and suffering, now I am transferred again. Still I do not know what is my future. Still I am left behind in PNG.

I need to live somewhere I am welcome, and have opportunities to be useful and live in peace. I don’t want to spend years being a transitory person in Port Moresby. PNG people don’t want us here. It is not safe.”
